Building Sustainable Ecosystems in Every Neighbourhood

Team Vokitoki2 Jun 20267 min read

Our vision for local production and consumption — and why one connected app can do what a dozen disconnected ones never could.

Value that stays on the street

When you buy from the shop two lanes away, the value stays in your neighbourhood — it pays a local salary, funds a local family, keeps a shutter open. When everything ships from a warehouse, that value leaves.

We think technology tipped the scales the wrong way. Vokitoki is our attempt to tip them back.

Discovery is the unlock

Local businesses don’t lose to distant ones on quality or speed — they lose on discoverability. The bakery with the best bread in three kilometres has no shelf on the internet.

Give every shop, service and seller a place to be found by the people physically closest to them, and local commerce stops being an act of charity and starts being the convenient choice.

Commerce with a face

A neighbourhood economy runs on relationships. That’s why commerce on Vokitoki is inseparable from communication — chat with the seller, talk over walkie-talkie, share a cart with family before ordering.

Transactions build turnover. Conversations build ecosystems.

One connected neighbourhood

Communication, marketplace, services, maps, communities and giveaways — each is useful alone, but the magic is the connections between them. The shop you find is the shop you message. The map you search is the map you buy from.

That’s the ecosystem we’re building. Street by street.
